David Holt is an American actor, musician, and environmentalist. He is best known for his roles as Jess Aarons in Bridge to Terabithia, and as the voice of Sully in the Disney/Pixar film “Monsters, Inc.”
Holt was born in Los Angeles, California on April 6, 1973. He began his acting career in the early 1990s, appearing in commercials and guest roles on TV shows like “Clarissa Explains it All” and “Boy Meets World.” He was also in the movie “Space Jam.”
In 2005, Holt was cast in Bridge to Terabithia as the lead role of Jess Aarons. This movie was a major success and earned him a nomination for the Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Feature Film.
In 2001, Holt voiced the character of Sully in the Disney/Pixar film “Monsters, Inc.” He reprised the role for the 2013 sequel, “Monsters University.”
Holt has also appeared on stage in productions of “As You Like It” and “The Glass Menagerie.” In addition to acting, Holt is also a musician. He plays the banjo and guitar and has released several albums.
