Dave Gibbons is an English actor and comedian, best known for his roles in the British television shows The Inbetweeners and Doctors. He was born in London in 1972 and began acting in plays and musicals in school. After studying for a degree in theatre, Gibbons moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film and television.

In Hollywood, Gibbons quickly landed roles in a number of films, including The Prestige, The Hangover Part II and The World’s End. He also had a recurring role in the hit NBC sitcom Friends. In 2008, Gibbons returned to the UK and began appearing in the comedy series The Inbetweeners. He played Will’s Dad, a role that earned him numerous awards including a British Comedy Award for Best TV Comedy Actor.

Gibbons appeared in the critically acclaimed Doctor Who episode “The Girl in the Fireplace” in 2006 and also featured in the BBC’s remake of The Day of the Triffids. In 2010, he starred in the British drama The Office, playing the role of Martin, a bumbling office worker.

Gibbons has also had a successful stage career, appearing in many productions including the original West End production of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He has also had a number of guest star roles in the popular BBC comedy Miranda and the ITV drama series Downton Abbey.

In addition to acting, Gibbons is an accomplished voice-over artist, lending his voice to numerous animated series and video games. He also wrote and produced the short film The Great Unwashed.

Gibbons is married to the actress Sarah Smart and they have two sons. He is an avid supporter of Arsenal Football Club and is a patron of the charity Comic Relief. Dave Gibbons is a multi-talented actor who has enjoyed a successful career on stage, TV and film.
