Daryl Hall is an American singer, songwriter, and musician who first gained fame as half of the duo Hall & Oates. Born in Pennsylvania, he started playing music at a young age and formed his first band at the age of 15. After meeting John Oates in 1967, the two formed Hall & Oates, which went on to become one of the most successful duos in music history. With over 80 million records sold worldwide and six #1 singles, Hall & Oates have sold more records than any other duo in music history.

Hall's solo career began in 1980, with his first album, Sacred Songs. The album featured the hit singles “Dreamtime” and “Rich Girl,” which both reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He released several more albums throughout the 1980s, all of which were critically acclaimed and commercially successful. His most successful solo album was 1989’s Change of Seasons, which featured the hits “Sometimes a Mind Changes” and “Foolish Pride”.

In the 1990s, Hall began to focus on television and film. He hosted the television show Live from Daryl’s House, which featured musical guests from all genres performing with him. He also appeared in the films Summer School, Wayne’s World 2 and For Better or for Worse. He also appeared in the Broadway play Smokey Joe’s Café.

In the 2000s, Hall continued to focus on his television and film career, while still recording and performing music. He released several more albums, including Can’t Stop Dreaming in 2006 and Three Hearts in the Happy Ending Machine in 2008. He also released several live albums and DVDs, and was featured in the documentary film Daryl Hall & John Oates: Live from Daryl’s House.

In 2011, Hall was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and in 2014, he and Oates were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2017, Hall released his latest album, Solo Time. The album featured the single “Change of Seasons”, a collaboration with Oates.

To this day, Hall continues to record and tour with Oates, and continues to appear on television and film. His music has been featured in numerous films and television shows, and he is considered one of the most influential singers, songwriters, and musicians of the past five decades.
