Danae Stratou is a Greek visual artist, sculptor, and filmmaker who has been creating pieces of art since the early 1990s. She is best known for her large-scale installations and public art projects. She has had solo exhibitions in countries such as Greece, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Stratou has also participated in numerous group exhibitions in Europe, the United States, and Asia.
Stratou was born in 1968 in Athens, Greece. She studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts and the Royal College of Art in London. During her studies, she was heavily influenced by the works of conceptual artists such as Marcel Duchamp and Joseph Kosuth. She also drew inspiration from the works of filmmakers such as Chris Marker and Andrei Tarkovsky.
