Christine Huerzeler is a Swiss director and creative producer. She is best known for her work in documentary filmmaking and commercial production. She has created award-winning projects for renowned clients such as the International Olympic Committee, BBC, Nike, and the United Nations.

Huerzeler was born and raised in Switzerland, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Cultural Studies from the University of Zurich. Upon graduation, she pursued her passion for filmmaking and production by working in various roles in the Swiss film industry. She eventually found her way to the international scene, working as an assistant director on the feature film “The Grand Budapest Hotel”.

In 2015, Huerzeler made her directorial debut with the documentary “Brother & Sister”, which focused on the struggles of two siblings living in poverty in India. The documentary was well-received and earned numerous awards at film festivals around the world.

Since then, Huerzeler has directed several feature-length documentaries, such as “Boys of the Wind” about a group of Nepalese children who join a kite-flying competition, and “The Bigger Picture”, which follows the story of a Chinese man who attempts to reunite his family.

Huerzeler has also directed two feature-length fiction films. The first, “The Journey”, follows a young man’s quest for revenge in a post-apocalyptic world. The second, “The Iron Lady”, is a biopic about a female politician in India.

In addition to her film work, Huerzeler has produced a number of commercials, music videos, and short films. She is passionate about giving a voice to marginalized communities and telling stories that can inspire social change.

Huerzeler has won numerous awards for her work, including the Swiss Filmmaker Prize and the Berlin International Film Festival’s Grand Jury Prize. In 2020, she was nominated for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Documentary Filmmaking.
