Celine Dion, born Céline Marie Claudette Dion on March 30, 1968, is a Canadian singer, songwriter and businesswoman. She is one of the most successful and influential musicians in pop music history. She has released over 200 million albums worldwide and is one of the best-selling female artists of all time.

Dion was born in Charlemagne, Quebec, and is the youngest of 14 children. She was exposed to music from a very young age, as both her parents were musicians. At the age of 12, she wrote her first song, titled “Ce n’était qu’un rêve” (It Was Only a Dream). At the age of 18, she won a competition to become a star singer in Quebec.

In 1981, she released her first album, La voix du bon Dieu, which went on to be certified gold in France and Canada. She then toured Europe, Japan and the United States, quickly becoming a global superstar.

In the early 1990s, Dion released her most successful albums to date, including Unison, Celine Dion, The Colour of My Love and Falling Into You. These albums sold millions of copies, earned her numerous awards and made her a household name.

In 1997, Dion released her biggest hit to date, “My Heart Will Go On”, from the soundtrack to the blockbuster movie Titanic. The song was a worldwide hit, topping the charts in many countries and earning Dion multiple awards, including an Academy Award and a Grammy Award.

Dion is also an accomplished businesswoman. In 2003 she opened the restaurant-theater, “Celine,” in Las Vegas, and in 2004 she launched her own perfume line. She has also launched a line of clothing, jewelry and home accessories, and she owns a line of hotels in Quebec.

Today, Dion continues to be one of the most successful and influential singers in the world. She has won numerous awards, including five Grammy Awards, two Academy Awards, seven American Music Awards and seven World Music Awards. She has also been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
