Brenda West (1958- ) is a Canadian actress and writer, best known for her roles in films such as The Fly II, American Psycho, and The L Word.

Born in Toronto, Canada, West was raised by her single mother, a former dancer. She began acting at a young age, appearing in school plays, and eventually graduated from the prestigious National Ballet School of Canada. She then moved to New York City to pursue her acting career and found success with a series of off-Broadway plays.

In the late 1980s, West made her debut in film when she was cast in The Fly II. The sci-fi horror film was a box office hit and West gained further attention when she was cast as the female lead in American Psycho.
