Brenda Adamson is a Canadian actress from Vancouver, British Columbia. She is best known for her roles in popular films and television shows in the 1980s and 1990s.

Adamson began her career in theatre, performing in various productions in the Vancouver area. Her first film role was a small part in the 1982 horror film, The Forest. After this, she began to get more roles in both feature films and television, including a part in the horror-comedy House II: The Second Story.

Adamson continued to appear in films throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, most notably in John Hughes' 1988 comedy, She’s Having a Baby, and the 1992 romantic comedy My Father the Hero. She also had a recurring role in the Canadian TV series, Emily of New Moon.

In the mid-1990s, Adamson began to take on more serious roles. She appeared in the critically-acclaimed 1997 drama, The Sweet Hereafter, playing the role of a grieving mother. Her performance earned her a Genie Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

Adamson continued to appear in films, television, and theatre throughout the 2000s and 2010s, appearing in shows such as Supernatural and The X-Files. She also had a recurring role in the Canadian series Arctic Air.

Adamson is also a respected acting teacher. She has taught at a number of Vancouver area schools, and has been a guest lecturer at the University of British Columbia.

Though she is not as active in the film industry as she once was, Adamson remains a respected actress and acting coach. Her long career has seen her appear in some of the most beloved films and television shows of the past several decades.
