Bob Proctor (born June 10, 1933) is a self-help author, motivational speaker, and life coach. He is best known for his book, You Were Born Rich, and for his appearances in the 2006 documentary The Secret.

Bob Proctor was born in Toronto, Canada, to a working-class family. He dropped out of school in the eighth grade and began working in a variety of odd jobs until he found his way to the insurance industry. After establishing himself as a successful insurance salesman, Proctor moved to Los Angeles and began teaching his idea of self-improvement and success.

In the mid-1960s, Proctor developed his own philosophy, based on the idea that “all people are born rich” and can achieve success if they think and act in the right way. He wrote his first book on the subject, You Were Born Rich, in 1984.
