BIO

Bitto Albertini (born January 1, 1962), is an Italian film director and screenwriter. He is best known for his work on films such as "I Vitelloni" (1993), "The Stendhal Syndrome" (1996) and "The Sky Is Everywhere" (1998).

Albertini was born in Rome, Italy. His father was a professor of ancient history and archaeology. He began his career in the early 1980s, working as an assistant director and script supervisor on several Italian films. He later attended the State Film School in Rome, where he studied filmmaking and screenwriting.

Albertini's first feature film, "I Vitelloni" (1993), tells the story of five friends in rural Italy who struggle to find their place in the world. The film won several awards, including the Silver Ribbon from the Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists.

Albertini's second feature film, "The Stendhal Syndrome" (1996), is a psychological thriller about a female police officer who suffers from a rare psychological condition known as the Stendhal Syndrome. The film received a nomination for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.

In 1998, Albertini released "The Sky Is Everywhere", a science fiction film about a young boy who is sent to an alien planet to live with a mysterious race of creatures. The film won the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival.

Albertini has also directed several television series, including "Lezioni di Vita" (2005), "La Compagnia del Cigno" (2006) and "La Strada del Sole" (2007).

Albertini has received numerous awards for his work, including the David di Donatello Award for Best Director for "The Stendhal Syndrome" and the Nastro d'Argento Award for Best Director for "The Sky Is Everywhere".

Albertini is currently working on a new feature film, "The Stellina", which is set to be released in 2021.
