Arya Rothe is a prominent documentary filmmaker known for her compelling storytelling and unique ability to blend visual artistry with social commentary. Born in the vibrant city of Mumbai in 1985, Arya was exposed to the rich tapestry of Indian culture and complexities from an early age. This diverse environment greatly influenced her artistic vision and passion for storytelling.

Growing up in a family of artists, Arya was encouraged to explore her creativity. She pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts followed by a Master’s in Documentary Filmmaking from the prestigious National Film and Television School in the UK. It was during her time in the UK that she honed her skills and developed a keen interest in exploring pressing social issues through the lens of documentary filmmaking.

Arya's career began with short documentaries that gained attention for their intimate portrayal of marginalized communities. Her debut short film, "Voices of the Forgotten," highlighted the struggles of street children in Mumbai and was screened at various international film festivals. This initial success paved the way for her to delve deeper into themes of social justice, human rights, and environmental issues.

In 2015, Arya released her first feature-length documentary, "Waves of Change," which focused on the impact of climate change on coastal communities in India. Through stunning visuals and heartfelt interviews, the film not only raised awareness about rising sea levels but also showcased the resilience of the people affected.
