Andy Roddick is an American professional tennis player, actor, and philanthropist. He is one of the most successful tennis players of all time, having won numerous singles and doubles titles. He was born on August 30th, 1982 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Roddick was introduced to tennis at a very young age by his parents, who were both avid players. He began playing competitively at the age of eight and quickly became one of the top players in the state. As a teenager, he moved to Florida to train at Nick Bollettieri's Tennis Academy. His hard work paid off, and he was offered a full tennis scholarship to the University of Georgia.

Roddick decided to forgo college and turn professional in 2000. His first professional tournament appearance was at the US Open, where he reached the fourth round.
