Alan Horn is an American film producer and studio executive. He is the current Chairman of The Walt Disney Studios, a position he has held since 2012. As a producer, Horn has worked on such iconic films as Die Hard, The Last Samurai, and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

Horn was born in 1943 in New York City. He attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he received a degree in English literature. After graduating, Horn worked as a television writer and producer, and soon began working for Creative Management Associates, a talent agency. In 1976, he moved into the motion picture industry, joining Warner Bros. Pictures as a senior vice president.

At Warner Bros., Horn rose through the ranks and became president and chief operating officer of the studio in 1989. During his tenure, Warner Bros. enjoyed tremendous success, producing some of the biggest and most enduring films in Hollywood history, including the Harry Potter series, The Matrix trilogy, and The Dark Knight.

Horn left Warner Bros. in 2011 and joined The Walt Disney Company as chairman of The Walt Disney Studios. Under Horn’s leadership, Disney has had vast success in the film industry, producing numerous blockbuster hits, such as Marvel’s The Avengers, Frozen, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

In addition to his work at Disney, Horn has also served as chairman of the American Film Institute, a non-profit organization that promotes filmmaking. He has also served as a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which is responsible for the Academy Awards.

Alan Horn has had an illustrious career in the motion picture industry. His work as a producer and studio executive has resulted in some of the most successful and beloved films of all time. His contributions to the industry have been recognized with numerous awards and honors, including the Motion Picture Academy’s Irving G. Thalberg Award.

Known for
