Akihiro Miwa (宮輪 明洋) is a Japanese actor and model born on August 28, 1987 in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. He is best known for his roles in films such as Death Note (2006) and Bakuman (2015).

Miwa first became interested in acting after seeing a stage play featuring the Japanese actor Eita. He joined the theatre group Engeki Kyoukagaku at the age of 14 and started taking acting classes. During high school, he continued to perform in plays and eventually decided to pursue a career in acting.

In 2005, he made his film debut in the Japanese horror film, The Grudge 2. However, his breakout role came in 2006 when he starred in the hit film Death Note. He portrayed the character of Yagami Light, a high school student who discovers a supernatural notebook that grants him the power to kill anyone whose name he writes in it. The film was a huge success, grossing over 1.7 billion yen at the Japanese box office.

For the next few years, Miwa continued to build his career, appearing in several television dramas and films such as Ichi (2008), Tokyo Sonata (2008), and Bakuman (2015). In 2017, he starred in the critically acclaimed film After the Storm as the main character, Ryota. The film was a box office hit, grossing over 5.7 billion yen.

In addition to acting, Miwa has also worked as a model, appearing in advertisements for companies such as Panasonic, Kao, and T-Joy. He has also released two photobooks, “Akihiro Miwa” and “Akihiro Miwa in Okinawa”.
