BIO

Yujiro Enoki is a renowned Japanese film director, screenwriter, and producer. Born in Tokyo in 1974, Enoki developed an interest in filmmaking from an early age. He went on to study film production at the Tokyo University of the Arts, graduating in 1998.

Enoki's career took off in 2003, with the release of his debut feature, the romantic drama “Kimi wa Tenshi” (You Are an Angel). The film was a critical and commercial success, earning him numerous awards and nominations, including Best Director at the Mainichi Film Competition.

Following this success, Enoki went on to direct several other acclaimed films, such as “Futatsume no Mado” (The Second Window), “Kamen no Kiba” (Mask of Fangs), “Kaiji: Final Game” (Kaiji: The Final Game), and “Konjou no Tsuki” (The Moon of Vengeance). His most recent feature, “Harukanaru Toki no Naka de” (Within the Distant Time), premiered in 2019 and was a hit at the box office.

Enoki is known for his intense visual style, which is often combined with a strong narrative and emotional depth. He is also respected for his ability to tell stories with depth and complexity, while still being accessible to a mainstream audience.
