Yango González is a filmmaker and media artist based in Berlin. His work lives in the tension between the whisper of personal stories and the complexities of human existence, weaving together social and existential threads into films and installations that feel both intimate and vast.
His journey began in Colombia and Brazil, where he earned his Bachelor's in Film Studies and directed his first fiction films, including two collaborative feature films made with filmmakers from around the world: The Owner (2012) and Tain Station (2016), the latter earning awards such as Best Feature at the Los Angeles Diversity Film Festival.
After migrating to Europe, he expanded his practice into essay films and documentary, in both film and installation form. His essays emerge from fragments of life: images, sounds and reflections gathered from people across all walks of life. He is completing a Master's in Editing at the Film University Konrad Wolf Babelsberg.
