BIO

Wayne Abbott is an American film director, screenwriter, producer, and actor, best known for his work on the TV series 'The X-Files,' 'The Sopranos,' 'Boston Legal,' and 'CSI: Miami.'

He was born in Los Angeles, California, in 1956 and grew up in the San Fernando Valley. He attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film Studies.

Abbott began his career as a television director in the late 1980s, working on shows such as 'L.A. Law' and 'Doogie Howser, M.D.' In 1992, he directed his first feature film, 'The Stopwatch Gang,' which earned him an Independent Spirit Award nomination.

In 1996, he directed the critically acclaimed drama 'The X-Files: I Want to Believe.' He followed that up with 'The Sopranos' and 'Boston Legal.' He also directed episodes of 'CSI: Miami,' 'ER,' 'Alias,' 'Grey's Anatomy,' and 'House.'

Abbott has also directed several feature films, including 'The Bank Job' (2008), 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' (2010), 'The Gamechangers' (2014), and 'The Comedian' (2017).

In addition to his work in film and television, Abbott has directed several music videos, including for the bands Audioslave, The Offspring, and Faith No More.

Abbott is married to actress and producer Gloria Reuben, and the couple have two sons. He is an active advocate for animal rights, and has been a member of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals since the late 1990s.

Abbott's work has earned him several awards, including a Primetime Emmy Award and a Directors Guild of America Award. He is one of the most respected and sought-after directors in Hollywood, and his work continues to be highly acclaimed.
