Waymon Boone is an American film and television director, producer, and writer. He is best known for his work on the television series, The Office, and films such as Pee-wee's Big Adventure and The Breakfast Club.

Boone was born in Los Angeles, California. He was raised in the San Fernando Valley, and studied film at the University of California, Los Angeles. He began his career as a production assistant on the television show, The Jeffersons. After working on several television shows, Boone was hired by John Hughes to direct Pee-wee's Big Adventure. This film was a success and led to other directing jobs.

In 1985, Boone wrote and directed The Breakfast Club. This cult classic starred Emilio Estevez, Molly Ringwald, Anthony Michael Hall, Judd Nelson, and Ally Sheedy. It became one of the most iconic films of the 1980s. Boone also directed the sequel, Sixteen Candles, which was a critical and commercial success.

In 2006, Boone was hired to direct the American version of the popular British television show, The Office. He directed several episodes, including the series finale. In 2007, Boone was nominated for an Emmy for his work on the show.
