BIO

Tristan Taormino is an American feminist author, sex educator, filmmaker, and adult movie director. Taormino was born in 1972 in Valley Stream, New York, and studied literature and philosophy at Wesleyan University. After graduating in 1994, she worked for a number of feminist and adult publications, including On Our Backs, the San Francisco Bay Guardian, and the Village Voice.

In 1996, Taormino began writing and directing adult films. She is best known for her series of "how-to" adult films, which explore various aspects of human sexuality and feature real-life couples engaging in consensual sexual activities. Taormino's films have won numerous awards, including the 2001 Feminist Porn Awards for Best Director and the 2007 Feminist Porn Awards for Best Film.

In addition to her work as a filmmaker, Taormino is also an outspoken advocate for sex education and sexual freedom.
