BIO

Tim Wolochatiuk is an award-winning Canadian film director and screenwriter. He is best known for his work on the feature films “The Good Lie” and “The Take”, as well as the television series “The Listener”.

Wolochatiuk was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He studied film at the University of Toronto, graduating with a degree in Film Studies. He then went on to attend the Canadian Film Centre for Advanced Filmmaking, where he was mentored by director Atom Egoyan.

Wolochatiuk’s first feature film was “The Good Lie”, a drama about a group of Sudanese refugees struggling to adjust to life in Canada. The film was a critical success, and won awards at both the Toronto International Film Festival and the Canadian Screen Awards.

Wolochatiuk followed this up with “The Take”, a crime drama set in the world of organized crime. The film starred Oscar-nominated actor Paul Walker and was praised by critics for its gritty realism.

He then went on to direct and co-write the television series “The Listener”, a supernatural drama about a paramedic with the ability to read people’s thoughts. The show ran for five seasons on CTV and was nominated for numerous Gemini Awards.

Wolochatiuk’s most recent work is the feature film “The Unseen”, a psychological horror set in the Canadian wilderness. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2020, and was praised for its chilling atmosphere and intense performances.

In addition to his work as a director, Wolochatiuk has also written and produced several short films, and served as a mentor at the Canadian Film Centre. He is currently developing his next feature film, which is set to begin production in 2021.
