BIO

Tim Postins is an American film director and producer, credited with some of the most critically acclaimed films of the last two decades. He was born in Santa Monica, California in 1958. He attended the prestigious USC School of Cinematic Arts, graduating in 1980.

Postins’ first feature film, “The Journey of Steve”, was released in 1990 and was well-received by critics. It was followed by the coming-of-age drama “The Year of the Dragon”, which was released in 1994 and earned Postins an Academy Award nomination for Best Director.

Postins’ next film, “The Perfect Life”, was released in 1997 and won him a Golden Globe Award for Best Picture. The film was praised for its honest and thoughtful portrayal of two teenage girls dealing with the complexities of growing up in modern society.

In 2003, Postins released his most successful film to date, “The Last Samurai”. The film was a blockbuster hit, grossing over $450 million worldwide and earning Postins an Academy Award nomination for Best Director.

Postins has since directed several other popular films, including “The Island” (2005), “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy” (2011) and “The Monuments Men” (2014). He has also produced several films, including “The Imitation Game” (2014) and “The Martian” (2015).
