Thierry Demaiziere is a French film director, screenwriter, and producer. He is best known for his documentaries and feature films, which explore a variety of subjects and themes, including love, death, and social issues. Since the start of his career in the early 2000s, Demaiziere has worked with international stars such as Charlotte Gainsbourg, Anna Mouglalis, and Chiara Mastroianni.

Born in Paris, France, Demaiziere began his career as a journalist, writing for the French magazine Les Inrockuptibles. In 2002, he made his directorial debut with the short film “Kaboul Kitchen”, a collaboration with fellow filmmaker and friend, Laetitia Masson. The film was selected for the Cannes Film Festival, and it was the first time that Demaiziere’s work was featured at the festival.

In 2004, Demaiziere made his first full-length feature film, “Le Temps Qui Reste”, which starred Charlotte Gainsbourg and Michel Subor. The film was a critical success and was nominated for two César Awards. From there, Demaiziere continued to make films, often collaborating with Masson on projects such as “Un Amour De Jeunesse” (2011) and “L’Esquive” (2013).

In addition to his feature films, Demaiziere has also directed numerous documentaries, including “L’Amour Fou” (2006), a portrait of French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, and “Une Autre Vie” (2008), a film about Chiara Mastroianni. He has also made several documentaries about French theater, including “La Vie En Rose” (2010) and “Une Chorégraphie” (2012).

In recent years, Demaiziere has continued to explore a variety of topics in his films. In 2016, he directed “Les Démons”, a documentary about survivors of the 2015 Paris attacks. In 2017, he released “Sex Life of Robots”, a feature film about a woman struggling with her sexuality.
