Tamás Almási (born 1975) is a Hungarian film director, screenwriter and producer. He is best known for his critically acclaimed films Kontroll (2003), Taxidermia (2006), and Liza, the Fox-Fairy (2015).

Almási was born in 1975 in Budapest. He studied at the University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest, graduating in 1998. He began his career as a director by creating award-winning shorts and documentaries. His first feature film, Kontroll, was released in 2003 and screened at numerous international film festivals. The film was a critical and commercial success, and earned Almási the Best Director award at the 2004 Tribeca Film Festival.

Almási's second feature, Taxidermia (2006), was also well-received by critics, and earned him a Best Director nomination at the 2006 European Film Awards. The film was nominated for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. His third feature, Liza, the Fox-Fairy (2015), was also well-received, and earned him a nomination for Best Director at the 2016 Goya Awards.
