BIO

Steve Boggan is a British author and award-winning director of documentary films. Born in London, England, in 1965, Boggan began his career in 1987 as an editor for the British television network Channel 4. He quickly moved up the ranks and began directing his own documentaries in 1992.

The first documentary Boggan directed was Growing Up Fast, which focused on the lives of inner-city teenagers. The film was a hit, and it earned Boggan his first major award, a BAFTA nomination for Best New Filmmaker. This success led to a string of successful films, including the Emmy-nominated The Peacekeepers (1998) and The Price of Life (2000).

Boggan has also written two books, both of which are based on his documentary films. The first, Growing Up Fast (2003), is a memoir about his experience making the documentary of the same name. The second, The Price of Life (2006), is a non-fiction book about the ethical implications of medical research.
