BIO

Stephen K. Bannon is an American political strategist, filmmaker, and media executive. He is best known for his role as White House Chief Strategist in the administration of President Donald Trump, a post he held from January 2017 to August 2017.

Bannon was born in Norfolk, Virginia, in 1953 and was raised in Richmond, Virginia. He attended Virginia Tech and received his degree in urban planning. He then went on to work for Goldman Sachs in the finance sector. After Goldman Sachs, Bannon went to Hollywood, where he produced films such as The Indian Runner, Titus, and The Usual Suspects.

In 2004, Bannon founded the Government Accountability Institute, a conservative research organization. He then became the executive chairman of the Breitbart News Network in 2012. Bannon's time at Breitbart News allowed him to gain notoriety and recognition in the far right, populist, and nationalist circles.

It was during this time that Bannon was noticed by President Donald Trump. Bannon was appointed as the Chief Strategist for the Trump administration in January of 2017. In this role, Bannon was a key figure in the administration's policy-making, particularly on issues of immigration and economic nationalism.

Bannon was a highly controversial figure in the Trump administration and was often criticized for his far-right views. He was seen as a central figure in the so-called “alt-right” movement, and his views on immigration and economic nationalism were seen as extreme.

Bannon resigned from the White House in August of 2017. He returned to Breitbart News Network shortly after his departure from the White House. He also founded an organization called The Movement, which was designed to promote right-wing populist movements in Europe.

Bannon is no longer involved with Breitbart News Network, having left in 2018. He is currently involved with various other media and political ventures, including advising campaigns and candidates in the 2020 US presidential election.

In addition to his work in politics and media, Bannon has written several books, including The Patriot Rising and The Devil’s Bargain. He is also the executive producer of the feature film Trump@War.

Bannon is a highly controversial figure in American politics and media. His views on immigration, economic nationalism, and the “alt-right” have been condemned by many. Nevertheless, Bannon remains an influential figure in the populist right-wing movement.
