BIO

Stéphanie Argerich is an award-winning Argentinian director, writer, and producer. She is best known for her films such as “The Wind”, “The Headless Woman”, and “The Burning”.

Stéphanie was born in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1975. She earned a degree in social communication from the University of Buenos Aires and went on to pursue a career in film. She began her career as an editor, and then moved on to directing short films.

In 2004, Stéphanie directed her first feature film, “The Wind”, which was critically acclaimed and won numerous awards, including the Grand Prize at the San Sebastián International Film Festival. The film was also nominated for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.

In 2008, Stéphanie wrote and directed her second feature film, “The Headless Woman”. The film was a critical success, earning a nomination for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. It also won the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival.

In 2013, Stéphanie directed “The Burning”, a horror-thriller that was also nominated for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. The film was a huge success in Argentina, and was nominated for a Goya Award.

Stéphanie’s other films include “The Night I Swam” (2017) and “The Intruder” (2018). She has also served as a jury member for many international film festivals, including Cannes, San Sebastián, and Moscow.
