Stefanos Pavlakis is a Greek-born film director, writer, and producer. He was born in Athens, Greece in 1979 and moved to the United States at the age of 18. Over the course of his career, he has directed and produced several award-winning feature films, documentaries, and commercials.
Pavlakis’s first feature film, “The Call of Spring,” was released in 2005. The film was met with critical acclaim and won numerous awards at festivals around the world, including the Grand Jury Prize at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival. Following the success of “The Call of Spring,” Pavlakis directed the feature film “Blackout” in 2008. The film was nominated for several awards, including Best Feature Film at the Tribeca Film Festival.
In 2012, Pavlakis wrote and directed his third feature film, “The Island.” The film was a critical and commercial success, and won several awards, including Best Film at the Miami International Film Festival. In 2013, Pavlakis wrote and directed “The Lost,” a supernatural thriller which was nominated for several awards, including Best Picture at the Tribeca Film Festival.
In addition to feature films, Pavlakis has also directed and produced numerous commercials and documentaries. His commercials have aired on networks such as MTV and HBO, while his documentaries have been featured at festivals around the world. Pavlakis’s most recent documentary, “The Power of Music,” was released in 2017.
Pavlakis has received numerous awards for his work, including Best Director at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival and Best Screenplay at the Miami International Film Festival. In addition, he has been nominated for numerous awards, including Best Director at the Sundance Film Festival.
Pavlakis is currently in pre-production on his next feature film, “The Girl with the Red Coat.” The film is scheduled to begin production in 2019. Pavlakis is also developing several other projects, including a television series and a feature film.
