BIO

Spiridoula Gouskou is a Greek filmmaker and visual artist whose work moves between documentary and fiction with a distinctly poetic sensibility. She studied Restoration of Art, Acting, and Film, building a multidisciplinary foundation that informs her visual and narrative approach. An award-winning photographer recognised by National Geographic and the University of Athens, she brings a refined sense of composition and emotion to her cinematic work.

Her filmography reflects a deep commitment to human stories and social awareness. Alongside Lukas Agelastos, she co-directed the documentaries The Unemployed Man Who Cooks for the Homeless (2013) and My Human Self (2017), both centred on compassion and resilience. She later directed the short fiction Two Drops of Water (2020) starring Dimitris Georgiadis, followed by Nowhere To Go (2022), a feature documentary exploring homelessness in Athens. Her upcoming short film Patinage (2022), funded by ERT, and Thirty-Six Letters (2022, in post-production), continue to develop her poetic and introspective style.

Spiridoula Gouskou’s films intertwine realism with lyricism, revealing her fascination with the emotional landscapes of ordinary lives and her belief in cinema as a space for empathy and reflection.
