Spike Geilinger is an American film and television director, known for his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having directed episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and Daredevil, as well as for his work directing films such as Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Ant-Man.

Geilinger was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 2, 1970. He was raised in a Jewish household and attended Senn High School, where he developed an interest in filmmaking. After graduating in 1988, he went on to study film at Columbia College in Chicago. He graduated in 1992 and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the film industry.

He started out as a production assistant, working on television shows such as The X-Files and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He then moved into directing, beginning with an episode of Angel in 2001. He went on to direct episodes of shows such as The Shield, 24, Bones, House, and Heroes, as well as the TV movie The Thirst: Blood War.

Geilinger made his feature film debut with the 2006 supernatural thriller The Covenant. In 2011, he directed an episode of the superhero series Smallville, and then in 2014 he made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, directing episodes of both Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and Daredevil. He then went on to direct the acclaimed Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 2014, and Ant-Man in 2015.

In 2016, Geilinger directed the pilot episode of the television series Legion, and he followed this up with an episode of the series Runaways in 2019. He is currently directing the upcoming Marvel series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Geilinger has won numerous awards for his work, including an Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for his work on the pilot of Legion. He is known for his attention to detail and his willingness to take risks with his projects, and his work has been praised by both critics and audiences.
