Skott Snider is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his work on the acclaimed movie, “The Shawshank Redemption.”

Snider was born on May 10, 1962, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended the University of Pennsylvania and earned a degree in film and television production. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

Snider’s first job was as a production assistant on the TV series, “Roseanne.” He then moved on to work as a music video director and music video editor. In 1992, Snider made his feature film debut with the movie, “The Shawshank Redemption,” which he directed, co-wrote, and produced.
