BIO

Shaul Schwarz (born in 1971) is an award-winning documentary photographer and filmmaker. He is best known for his groundbreaking work in the fields of photojournalism and documentary filmmaking.

Schwarz was born in Israel, but grew up in California, where he began to pursue his passion for photography. He attended college at Art Center College of Design (Pasadena, California) and later studied at the International Center of Photography (New York City). After graduating, Schwarz became a freelance photographer for National Geographic Magazine and The New York Times Magazine.

Schwarz has photographed and produced stories in more than 70 countries, focusing on social issues, the environment, and human rights. He has also worked in the fields of advertising, fashion, and music. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world and his photographs have been published in numerous publications.

In addition to his photographic work, Schwarz has directed feature documentaries, including the award-winning "Narco Cultura" (2013) and "Reversing Roe" (2018). He has also directed commercial campaigns and music videos.

In 2019, Schwarz was awarded the International Center of Photography Infinity Award for Documentary and Photojournalism. The award recognizes lifetime achievement and excellence in documentary photography and photojournalism.

Schwarz is currently based in Los Angeles, where he continues to produce documentary films and photography. He is a passionate advocate for social justice and human rights, and his work continues to bring awareness to social issues and inspire change.
