Ron Lawrence is a film director, cinematographer, and producer best known for his work on the television series Seinfeld, Friends, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Ron Lawrence was born in New York City in 1954 and grew up in the Bronx. After graduating high school he attended the School of Visual Arts, where he studied film and photography as well as art and design. After graduating from the School of Visual Arts, Lawrence started his career as a camera assistant working on television commercials.

In the mid-1980s, Lawrence moved to Los Angeles to pursue his career in television. He was hired as a director for the sitcom Full House and then went on to direct the hit show Seinfeld. During this time, he also directed episodes of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Friends.

In the late 1990s, Lawrence started producing and directing his own projects. His feature films include the horror films The Prophecy (1995) and The Prophecy II (1998). He also directed the science-fiction cult classic The Island of Dr. Moreau (1996).

In the early 2000s, Lawrence worked as a cinematographer on the motion pictures The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. He also served as the director of photography on the television series The West Wing and The O.C.

Throughout his career, Lawrence has continued to direct television shows and films, including the recent hit show Modern Family. He has also produced several feature films such as the historical drama The King's Speech (2010).
