Robert H. White is an American film director, screenwriter, and producer. He is best known for directing the films The Hunt for Red October, The Last of the Mohicans, Clear and Present Danger, and The Sum of All Fears.

White was born in Los Angeles, California, in 1947. He graduated from the University of Southern California in 1968 with a degree in film production. After graduation, he worked as an editor and assistant director on various television shows and films, including The Outer Limits, The Young and the Restless, and Magnum P.I.

In 1975, White wrote and directed his first feature film, The Mask. The movie was a critical and commercial success, and it led to him working on other films such as The Dogs of War and The Fourth Protocol.

In 1990, White directed The Hunt for Red October, based on the Tom Clancy novel of the same name. The film was a critical and commercial success, and it was nominated for six Academy Awards.

In 1992, White directed The Last of the Mohicans, based on the novel by James Fenimore Cooper. The film was a critical and commercial success, and it was nominated for twelve Academy Awards.
