BIO

Rick Kosick is an American director, photographer and cinematographer best known for his work on the Jackass series. He has also collaborated with director Jeff Tremaine on multiple projects including Bad Grandpa and Wildboyz.

Kosick was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was raised by his grandparents in a small farming community in the outskirts of the city. From a young age, he was interested in photography and filmmaking. He was often found tinkering with cameras, shooting Super 8 films and developing photos in the darkroom.

Kosick attended film school at the University of Southern California, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned directors and cinematographers. After graduating, he went on to work as a professional cinematographer and director on various television shows and music videos.

In 2000, Kosick was approached by Jeff Tremaine to be a part of the Jackass crew. It was a perfect fit as Kosick shared the same irreverent sense of humor as the cast. He went on to be a director and photographer for the show and joined them when they took their stunts on the road for the Jackass World Tour. He also served as a cinematographer for the Jackass movie trilogy.

Kosick has also collaborated with Jeff Tremaine on multiple projects including Bad Grandpa and Wildboyz. He was also a director, photographer and cinematographer for the TV series Nitro Circus.

Kosick has won numerous awards for his work, including a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality Program for Jackass and a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Cinematography for Nonfiction Programming for Wildboyz.

Kosick continues to be an active director, photographer and cinematographer. His most recent project was the Paramount Network show Nitro Circus, which he was a director and executive producer for. He also recently directed and photographed the music video for the song “Youngblood” by 5 Seconds of Summer.

Kosick continues to push the boundaries of film and television with his unique and innovative style. His work is an inspiring example of how creativity and passion can come together to create something truly remarkable.
