BIO

Peter Mortimer is an award-winning filmmaker and director who has directed a number of acclaimed television series and commercials. He is a graduate of the University of York and began his career in the film industry in 1998.

Mortimer's first feature film credit was in 2000 when he directed the British comedy series ‘The Office’. The series was a huge success and earned him a BAFTA Award nomination. In 2002 he directed the short film ‘Sixty Minutes’ which won the Royal Television Society Award for Best Short Film.

After directing a number of television series, Mortimer made his feature film directorial debut in 2005 with the critically acclaimed crime drama ‘The Last Drop’. The film was a success and earned him a BAFTA nomination for Best Director. Following this success, he directed the biopic ‘The Music Within’ in 2006, which was a critical and commercial success.

In 2010 Mortimer directed the action-comedy ‘MacGruber’, starring Will Forte and Kristen Wiig. The film was a box office success and earned him a nomination for Best Director at the Saturn Awards.

In 2013, Mortimer directed the acclaimed documentary ‘Valley Uprising’ about the history of rock climbing in Yosemite National Park. The film was an audience favorite and won several awards, including the Audience Award at the Los Angeles Film Festival.

In 2015, Mortimer directed the romantic comedy ‘The Big Sick’, starring Kumail Nanjiani and Zoe Kazan. The film was a critical and commercial success, earning Mortimer a nomination for Best Director at the Gotham Awards.

Mortimer has also directed numerous television commercials for brands such as Nike, Apple, Microsoft and Samsung. He has also directed music videos for artists such as Taylor Swift, Coldplay, and The Black Eyed Peas.

Mortimer is known for his ability to bring complex stories to life on the big screen, and his films have earned him numerous awards and nominations. He continues to work on a variety of projects, both in feature films and television.
