Jary Nemo is an award-winning director, producer, and editor who has been making films since the early 2000s. He is best known for his work on the comedy films The Wackness (2008), I Love You, Man (2009), and The Watch (2012).
Jary was born in Germany in 1977 and moved to the United States when he was just four years old. He grew up in New York and attended the New York Film Academy, where he fell in love with filmmaking. After graduating, Jary began working as an editor for various independent films and eventually moved into the world of feature films, working as an assistant editor on titles such as The Rules of Attraction and The Cooler.
In 2008, Jary made his directorial debut with The Wackness, a coming-of-age comedy set in 1994 New York City. The film was a critical and commercial success, earning him an Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature.
Following The Wackness, Jary directed his first studio feature for DreamWorks, I Love You, Man. Starring Paul Rudd and Jason Segel, the film was a hit and earned Jary a nomination for a People's Choice Award for Favorite Comedy Movie.
Jary continued his string of successes with The Watch, a sci-fi comedy starring Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill, and Richard Ayoade. The film earned mostly positive reviews and became a modest box office hit.
Since then, Jary has gone on to direct episodes of the television shows New Girl, The Grinder, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, as well as the feature film The Year of Spectacular Men (2018). He has also produced the films The Skeleton Twins (2014) and The Bronze (2015).
