Hannan Majid is a British independent film and documentary director. He is best known for his work on the award-winning film “Four Lions” and the critically acclaimed documentary “This is Not a Film”.

Majid was born in London in 1981 to a British-Pakistani family. He attended the University of Manchester, where he studied for a degree in Social Anthropology. After graduating in 2003, he decided to pursue a career in film.

In 2006, Majid directed his first feature film, “Four Lions”. The film was a critical and commercial success, winning multiple awards and receiving a nomination for the British Academy Film Award for Outstanding British Film.

In 2010, Majid directed the documentary “This is Not a Film”. The film follows the story of three people living in a refugee camp in Afghanistan. It was praised for its powerful and poignant storytelling.

Majid has been praised for his commitment to social justice and for his strong visual style. He has been nominated for a BAFTA award for Best British Newcomer for his work on “Four Lions”.

In addition to his work as a director, Majid is also an actor and a producer. He has produced several independent films, including the award-winning “The Valley”.
