Hannan Majid is a British independent film and documentary director. He is best known for his work on the award-winning film “Four Lions” and the critically acclaimed documentary “This is Not a Film”.
Majid was born in London in 1981 to a British-Pakistani family. He attended the University of Manchester, where he studied for a degree in Social Anthropology. After graduating in 2003, he decided to pursue a career in film.
In 2006, Majid directed his first feature film, “Four Lions”. The film was a critical and commercial success, winning multiple awards and receiving a nomination for the British Academy Film Award for Outstanding British Film.
In 2010, Majid directed the documentary “This is Not a Film”. The film follows the story of three people living in a refugee camp in Afghanistan. It was praised for its powerful and poignant storytelling.
