BIO

Juan Antonio Moreno Amador is a director, screenwriter and producer. He has directed and written the feature films Welcome to Spain and Boxing for Freedom, screened in more than 50 countries and selected for the European Film Academy Awards, and the short film Palabras de Caramelo, nominated for the Goya Awards. As a producer he has produced Walls and Our Life as Refugee Children in Europe, winners of two Goya Awards for Best Documentary Short Film.

His films have received more than 100 awards and have been selected in more than 500 festivals such as the Toronto Hot Docs Festival, the London Festival, the Montreal Festival, CPH:DOX in Copenhagen, Sheffield Doc/Fest in the UK, Camerimage or DocumentaMadrid.

Moreno has received the Queen Sofia Award for Social Communication, the Extremadura Global Award for Human Rights and the Award of Excellence granted by the Carlos III University of Madrid, where he teaches in the Master's Degree in Documentary Filmmaking. In 2010 he created his production company Making DOC and is a member of the European Film Academy and the Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Known for
