Director and video artist Paulo Abreu (Lisbon, 1964), studied Film in Lisbon and New York. He worked as director of photography in films by renowned Portuguese directors André Gil Mata, Bruno de Almeida, Jorge Quintela, Luís Alves de Matos, Patrick Mendes, Rodrigo Areias.
Directed films for dance, theatre and music shows. Paulo directed over 20 experimental films selected and awarded in international exhibitions and film festivals. Most of his work is distributed internationally by Light Cone and has been shown in museums worldwide. “UBU” is his debut fiction feature.
