Paul Kendall is a highly acclaimed film and television director who has been creating award-winning projects for nearly two decades. His work has been recognized by numerous awards including the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie, or Special for his work on the critically acclaimed HBO miniseries, John Adams.

Kendall was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, where he attended the prestigious USC School of Cinematic Arts. While in school, he directed several short films that were well-received by film festivals. After graduating, he made his feature film debut directing the comedy The Big White in 2005. The movie was a success and earned him a nomination for the Independent Spirit Awards for Best First Feature.

He then went on to direct several more feature films, including the drama Happy Endings (2007) and the supernatural thriller The Lazarus Effect (2013). His television directing credits include episodes of the hit series House, Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, and The Good Wife.

In 2008, Kendall was chosen to direct the miniseries John Adams, starring Paul Giamatti. The miniseries was a critical and commercial success and won numerous awards including the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie, or Special.

Kendall is currently directing the HBO series The Leftovers (2014-2017), which has earned him two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series. He also recently directed the feature film The Big Sick (2017), which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and won the Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize.

Kendall is renowned for his ability to create visually stunning and emotionally resonant films and television shows.
