Paul Davids is an American director, producer, and writer best known for his work in the science fiction and fantasy genres. He is best known for his work on the 1994 film, Roswell: The UFO Cover-up, and the 1996 television film, The Sci-Fi Boys.

Paul Davids was born in New York City on February 19, 1954. He graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1976 with a degree in anthropology and art history.

Davids began his career in the film industry in the 1980s as a production assistant. In the early ‘90s, he began directing and producing television and feature films. His first feature film was the 1994 science fiction/mystery film, Roswell: The UFO Cover-up, which he wrote, directed, and produced. The film was a critical success and won the 1995 Saturn Award for Best Science Fiction Film.

In 1996, Davids wrote, directed, and produced the television film, The Sci-Fi Boys, which was a biographical look at the early days of science fiction film and television. He also wrote and directed the 1998 science fiction/horror film, The Trigger Effect.

Davids has also produced several films, including the 1998 science fiction/horror film, Alien Abduction: Incident in Lake County, and the 1999 science fiction/horror film, The Unnamable II: The Statement of Randolph Carter.

In addition to his work in film and television, Davids has written several books, including The Paul Davids Reader: Selected Writings from the Science Fiction/Fantasy Genre (1995), and The Art of Paul Davids: A Collection of Art and Writing from the Science Fiction/Fantasy Genre (1999).

Paul Davids has won numerous awards, including the 1995 Saturn Award for Best Science Fiction Film and the 1998 International Horror Guild Award for Best Independent Film. He has also been nominated for several awards, including the 1996 Saturn Award for Best Writing for The Sci-Fi Boys.
