BIO

Paul Borghese is an Italian-American director and producer known for his work on films such as The Godfather Part III and The Talented Mr. Ripley. Born in Rome in 1951, Borghese studied film at the University of Rome and later at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. After graduating, he began his career in the Italian film industry, directing a number of television movies and short films.

His feature film debut came in 1981 with the critically acclaimed drama The Family Friend. The film went on to win several awards and put Borghese on the map as a rising director. He went on to direct the cult classic comedy Johnny Stecchino in 1991 and the romantic comedy The Window in 1994.

In 1990, Borghese was hired to direct the third installment of Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather series. The Godfather Part III was a commercial and critical success, earning seven Academy Award nominations and a Best Picture win at the Golden Globe Awards. It also solidified Borghese's reputation as a talented director.

Following the success of The Godfather Part III, Borghese directed the 1999 psychological thriller The Talented Mr. Ripley, starring Matt Damon and Gwyneth Paltrow. The film was praised by critics and performed well at the box office.

In addition to his work in film, Borghese has also directed several television movies and shows, including the 2009 TV movie The Book of the Dead, starring John Travolta. He has also produced several films, including the 2002 romantic drama The Last Kiss, starring Zach Braff and Rachel Bilson.
