BIO

Pablo Perel is an Argentine film director, producer, and cinematographer best known for his work on documentaries, feature films, and television series. He is recognized for his unique visual style and his ability to capture the essence of any story he tells.

Perel was born in Buenos Aires in 1971, where he attended the National Film and Audiovisual Institute. He graduated in 1996 with a degree in cinematography and directing, and immediately began working in the industry. He first gained recognition for his work as a cinematographer for the television series “Luna de Miel” (Honeymoon).

Perel’s feature film debut came in 2001, with the drama “Clandestino”. The film earned Perel the Silver Condor Award for Best Director from the Argentine Film Critics Association. This was followed by the critically acclaimed “La Cara Oculta” (The Hidden Face) in 2011, which earned Perel a Goya Award nomination for Best Director.

In 2013, Perel directed the acclaimed documentary “La Granja” (The Farm), which examined the lives of the inmates at a prison in Argentina. The film was selected as the Argentine entry for the Best Documentary Feature at the 86th Academy Awards.

Perel also produces and directs television series, including the popular “Los Herederos del Monte” (The Heirs of the Mountain), which aired from 2011 to 2013. His most recent television project is the acclaimed “La Otra Mirada” (The Other Look), which focuses on women’s rights and gender equality.

Perel’s films have earned numerous awards, including the Silver Condor for Best Director, Goya Award nominations, and a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.
