Nuno Baptista is a Portuguese film director and screenwriter. He was born in Lisbon in 1971. He graduated with a degree in film from the Lisbon Film School, where he received several awards for his student work.

Since then, he has worked as a freelance director, screenwriter and editor. He has directed several short films, documentaries and feature films, which have been selected for numerous international film festivals. Nuno is best known for his debut feature film, "Cabra-Cega," which earned him the best director prize at the Caminhos Film Festival in Portugal.

Nuno’s style is characterized by its bold visual approach and experimental nature. His films are heavily influenced by his background in visual arts, which is evident in his use of light, color and sound. His works often explore themes of identity, memory and the human condition.

Nuno has collaborated with some of Portugal’s most acclaimed filmmakers, including Manoel de Oliveira and Teresa Villaverde. He has also served as a guest lecturer at several universities and is a member of the Portuguese Directors Association.

Nuno’s latest project is a feature film entitled “The Human Voice,” which was awarded the top prize at the San Sebastian Film Festival in 2020. The film tells the story of a woman who is struggling to come to terms with her past and find her own identity. The film is a powerful and deeply moving exploration of identity, memory and the human condition.
