Nina Davenport is an American film director, producer, writer, and editor. She has received numerous awards for her work, including the National Board of Review's Best Documentary Award for her film First Comes Love.
Davenport was born and raised in New York City. She attended Oberlin College in Ohio, where she studied theater and filmmaking. She went on to earn an MFA in filmmaking from the California Institute of the Arts.
Davenport's first feature film, First Comes Love, debuted at the South by Southwest Film Festival in 1996. The film follows the lives of a married couple, their children, and their journey to adopt a child. The film was a success, and Davenport was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the festival.
