BIO

Neil Edwards is an English television and film director and producer. He was born in London in 1968 and studied at the University of Bristol, where he gained a degree in English Literature.

After university, Neil began his career as a TV producer, working on a variety of documentary and factual television projects. He quickly gained a reputation for his creative and innovative approach to storytelling and directing. In 1997, he made his directorial debut with the BBC drama series “The Bill”.

In the following years, Neil established himself as a leading director in the UK television industry. He directed over sixty episodes of the popular police drama series “The Bill” and went on to direct a number of other successful television shows including “Holby City”, “Eastenders”, and “Midsomer Murders”. In addition to his TV work, Neil also directed a number of award-winning films, including “The Mystery Kid” and “The Night Watch”.

In recent years, Neil has shifted his focus to producing. He produced the television series “Criminal Justice” and the feature films “The Kid Who Would Be King” and “The Aeronauts”. He has also served as executive producer on the popular BBC drama series “Peaky Blinders” and the feature film “The Theory of Everything”.

Neil is known for his creative and collaborative approach to filmmaking, and his ability to bring a unique vision to every project he works on. He is an accomplished director and producer who has received numerous awards for his work, including two BAFTA Awards, one Golden Globe, and one Emmy Award.
