Natasha Raheja is an award-winning independent filmmaker who is best known for her work on the feature documentaries, “In the Shadow of a Soul” and “The Metamorphosis of Birds.”

Raheja was born in Mumbai, India, where she grew up in a traditional Hindu household. She attended the prestigious Mumbai University, where she earned a degree in film and media studies. After graduating, she moved to the United States, where she studied at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles.

Since then, Raheja has gone on to create numerous award-winning shorts and feature-length documentaries. In 2011, she released her feature debut, “In the Shadow of a Soul.” The film, which was shot in India, explored the life of a female spiritual guide in modern-day India. The film was widely praised for its insight into the lives of those who practice Hinduism.

In 2016, Raheja released her second feature, “The Metamorphosis of Birds.” This film focused on the lives of two women in India who were forced to take drastic measures to protect their families. The film was highly praised for its unflinching look at the struggles faced by women in India.

In addition to her filmmaking career, Raheja has taught at the Los Angeles Film School and the University of Southern California. She is also a member of the International Documentary Association and has been a guest lecturer at numerous universities.

Raheja is passionate about helping young filmmakers who are just starting out in their careers. She is a strong advocate for independent filmmakers, and she has been involved in numerous initiatives to support up-and-coming filmmakers.

Though Raheja has only been making films for a few years, she has already established herself as one of the leading independent filmmakers in India. Her films have won numerous awards and have been featured in festivals all over the world.
