Monika Pawluczuk is an award-winning Polish director. Her work is widely acclaimed for its creative and innovative approach to film making. She has been the recipient of numerous awards including a Special Jury Prize at the Camerimage International Film Festival for her short film 'The Invisible'.

Monika was born in Torun, Poland in 1976. She studied at the Film School in Lodz and graduated with a degree in directing. After graduating, she spent a few years working in television before transitioning to film. Her first feature film, 'The Way', was released in 2004 and received critical acclaim. The film was nominated for six awards at the Polish Film Festival and earned her the Best Director award.

Since then, Monika has directed several feature films and documentaries, including 'The Line', 'The Island', and 'The Wait'. Her films explore themes of love, loss, and identity, often through the eyes of female protagonists. Her documentaries focus on social and political issues, with a particular focus on the lives of women in Poland.

In addition to her film work, Monika is also an active contributor to the cultural life of Poland. She has directed workshops and masterclasses at various festivals and universities, as well as working as a volunteer for various NGOs in her home country.

Monika's work has been recognised with several awards, including the Grand Prix at the Gdynia Film Festival for 'The Line' and the Grand Prix at the Krakow Film Festival for 'The Island'. She has also been a jury member for several film festivals, including the International Film Festival in Poland.

Monika is passionate about film and her work reflects this. She is committed to creating meaningful and powerful stories that explore the human condition and our place in the world. Through her work, she hopes to inspire others to tell their own stories.
