Mikael Sandberg is an award-winning Swedish director best known for his work in television, film, and music videos. Sandberg was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1977. He studied film at Stockholm University from 1995-1999 and then went on to work as a freelance director for various Swedish television and film production companies.

Sandberg's first feature film was "The Kautokeino Rebellion" (2008), which won the prestigious Nordic Film Prize and was nominated for a Guldbagge Award in Sweden. He then directed the critically acclaimed drama "Fjällbackamorden" (2010), which was nominated for a Best Film Guldbagge Award.

Sandberg has also directed several music videos for Swedish artists such as The Cardigans, Kent, and The Knife. He has won two Swedish Grammis Awards for his work on Kent's "Vinternoll2" and The Cardigans' "Carnival".

In addition to his work in film and television, Sandberg has also directed several commercials for companies such as Volvo, ICA, and Telia. His work has been featured in campaigns in both the United States and Europe.

Sandberg's most recent film is "The Wife" (2017), which stars Glenn Close and Jonathan Pryce. The film won the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture-Drama and was nominated for three Academy Awards.

Sandberg has also directed several short films, including "The House That Jack Built" (2007), which won the Grand Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. He is currently developing a feature-length version of the film.
