Migueltxo Molina is an iconic Spanish director, producer, and screenwriter whose career has spanned more than two decades. He has directed some of the most successful Spanish films of the past two decades, including the unforgettable thriller, “Thesis” (1996) and “The Other Side of the Bed” (2002).

Migueltxo Molina was born in 1971 in Madrid, Spain. He studied Literature at the Complutense University of Madrid, and began his career working in the Spanish television industry. In 1995, he made his directorial debut with the television movie “The Ghost of the River”. The film was a success and garnered him numerous awards, including the Spanish Academy Award for Best New Director.

In 1996, Molina released his first feature film, “Thesis”. The film was a commercial and critical success, and earned him the Goya Award for Best Director. The film also established him as one of the leading filmmakers in the Spanish film industry.

In the years that followed, Molina continued to direct a string of critically-acclaimed films. These include “Son de Mar” (2001), “The Other Side of the Bed” (2002), and “DarkBlueAlmostBlack” (2006). His most recent films include “The Open Door” (2009), “Sex, Love & Therapy” (2012), and “The Bride” (2016).

Migueltxo Molina is also well-known for his work as a producer. He has produced dozens of Spanish films, including “Thelma & Louise Go to Spain” (2002) and “The Sea Inside” (2004). His production company, Arcadia Motion Pictures, has also produced some of the most successful Spanish films in recent years, such as “The Orphanage” (2007) and “Biutiful” (2010).
